Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: FAQ

How long does it take?

Each session is scheduled for 55 minutes. Also, life happens, and a few minutes here or there is expected.

I typically suggest weekly or biweekly to start, and it can take a few sessions or longer to see the change and healing you seek.

How much does it cost?

That depends.
Most health insurance plans require a copay at the time of the session, or a Superbill can be provided for you to submit for reimbursement.

Please see the "Services Cost" section for more details on fees.

What if it doesn't work?

Such a good question!
People typically feel a little worse before they begin to feel better when it comes to therapy. While there is no guarantee you will feel as good as you hope as quickly as you want, most clients find that if they are able to stick it out to process their pain, there is relief and peace to be found on the other side.

What if it's awkward and I don't know what to say?

That's perfectly normal! I'm a total stranger, so it makes sense if you're not super comfortable at first. It's my job to help you decide if you feel safe enough to work with me or if another therapist would be a better fit. You just show up, and we can figure that out together!

Do you take anyone as a client?

No, and for good reason! It is important that the client-therapist relationship is a good fit, and I exclusively work with adults individually for sessions.
However, if it is appropriate, relevant, and agreed upon in advance, my clients are welcome to bring in significant people(s) from their life to the session.

Do I just lay on a couch while you write on a clipboard?

Definitely not! My approach is very interactive and warm, and the goal is to partner with you in recognizing your own strengths and capacity to heal.
